Dr. Ella Lim

Dr. Lim’s lifelong passion for patient care led her to become a board-certified specialist in root canal therapy, also known as Endodontics. She received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego, after which she completed her dental education at the New York University College of Dentistry with high distinctions. Upon graduation, Dr. Lim joined the United States Navy and served as a dental officer at multiple deployment locations, including Japan. She had also completed a comprehensive residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry while serving in the Navy.

Dr. Lim found her calling for the root canal specialty while taking care of emergencies during her military service. Witnessing the debilitating suffering of patients with toothaches and the senseless loss of otherwise savable teeth to extractions motivated her to seek additional training and experience in root canal therapy - a procedure that in many cases allows to save and prolong the life span of a diseased tooth. She served five years on active military duty, after which she was honorably discharged with many distinctions. Dr. Lim pursued her dream of becoming a root canal specialist at the highly selective Endodontic Residency at the University of the Pacific's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

After graduation, Dr. Lim completed a rigorous board certification process and was selected to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a distinction awarded to only a fraction of all trained Endodontists.

Dr. Lim’s warm personality and easygoing chairside manners are only some of the reasons patients all over the Bay Area are referred for her care. Her attention to detail and in-depth clinical and scientific knowledge are the backbone of her clinical treatment, insuring some of the highest levels of successful healing in the field.

When not treating patients, Dr. Lim volunteers by serving as the President of the Northern California Academy of Endodontics, where she is in charge of organizing and coordinating continuing education lectures for it’s 40+ members. She is also one of the founders and active sponsors of the One Myanmar Community Scholarship Program, which has been providing educational scholarships to local high school graduates for the past three years.

In her personal time, Dr. Lim enjoys hot Pilates, yoga, hiking, watching movies, and spending time with her family outdoors. She is an avid learner and is always advancing her knowledge of her profession by continuously reading and attending lectures and courses.
